Wonderful turnout and parent engagement at the January School Council meeting. We heard updates from the Council Committees, including the Healthy Active Kids Committee, which is planning a repeat of last year’s successful Dance/Hoop-a-thon and will be coordinating a series of Olympic-themed activities over the next month. Our Multicultural and Arts Committee is following up the school-wide rock painting project with grade-specific activities, such as a celebration of Chinese New Year for our Grade 1s. Our Emotional Well Being Committee is busy planning for a second parent workshop to take place in April and is looking to parents for input on session topics. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and twitter for more info and to have your say. We also reviewed the budget, fundraising initiatives and spending to date.
With the addition of Grade 7 to Woodroffe next year, our Principal took the opportunity to provide an update on preliminary plans for school renovations, most of which will be completed over the summer months. A more detailed account of the January School Council Meeting Minutes are posted on here.
Our big Spring Fling celebration and fundraiser is scheduled for Friday June 1st. We are having our first brainstorming and discussion meeting and invite any interested parents to join us. We would love to hear your feedback and ideas!
