Woodroffe Cake Raffle – Wednesday, Feb 13, 2019!

What is a Cake Raffle?
A Cake Raffle is when families generously make (or buy) and donate cakes, cupcakes, cookie cakes, cake pops and even non-food cakes. Teachers and students purchase raffle tickets to try to win their favourite cake. A delicious fundraiser!
How does it work?
All students will get one free ticket and additional tickets can be purchased. The price is $1 for two tickets, to a maximum of $10 for twenty tickets. Teachers will bring their classes to the gym to see all the cakes on display and everyone puts their ticket(s) in to try to win the cake of their choice. Each person is eligible to win only 1 cake. Please prepare your child that not everyone will win a cake. We will draw for all cakes in the afternoon and deliver the winning cakes to students starting at 2pm. All cakes will be sent home on Wed, Feb 13th .
Buying Tickets:
Tickets will be sold in advance on School Cash Online (week of Feb 4-8, closing Feb 8th at noon) and in class (with cash) the morning of Feb 13th. For our younger students and those buying many tickets, we encourage advance sales so that the tickets can be pre-printed for your child and safely distributed the morning of the raffle.
Donate a cake or volunteer for the event:
Lots of cakes and volunteers are needed to make this event a success! Please sign-up HERE to donate a cake and to help with this daytime event.
Cake Making Instructions:
When making your cake(s), please remember that all cakes are appreciated (no decorating experience necessary)! Please ensure proper hand washing and hygiene when baking and decorating cakes with children.
All cakes must also:
 Not be decorated with nuts or nut/peanut butter candy including candy like Reese’s  Pieces
Not require refrigeration
 Be small enough for our youngest students to carry home independently on the bus.
 Be on a foil wrapped base AND in sturdy box or a container that can travel home with students on the bus.
NOTE: Your container will not be returned (Dollar Stores are great for single use cake pans with transportation lids)
 Non-edible cake donations are also welcome (for example a cake made of craft supplies, sealed/packaged candy,
books, small toys or stuffed animals)
Cake Drop Off:
Please bring all donated cakes to the school on Tues, Feb 12 from 630-830pm or Wed, Feb 13 from 7-815AM. The more cakes we have the more winners we have. Tip: Consider sending 2 smaller cakes instead of 1 large cake or sending groups of 6-9 cupcakes instead of 12- 18. This allows for easier transport home AND we have more happy winners! Cakes for children with allergies: We will have a table for kids with allergies. All cakes for the allergy table must be store bought, sealed and clearly store labelled as nut-free. We cannot accept cakes made in a nut-free home, they must be store bought only.
